Welcome to Innovation Center for Chemical Science official website.
About

The Innovation Center for Chemical Science of Soochow University (ICCS), founded in April 2020, is a University-level research institute based at the College of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Materials Science (CCCEMS). ICCS brings together global research expertise with a shared interest in identifying and addressing key challenges in both fundamental science and applied technologies. ICCS also acts a platform. ICCS contribute for promoting the construction of first-class disciplines in Soochow University.

ICCS adheres to the orientation of major national needs. It builds the international cooperation platform around six major themes which are the creation and transformation of new matter, catalytic science and technology, energy storage and transformation, separation and purification technology, bionic materials and functional devices, and health monitoring and precision medicine, promoting cutting-edge scientific research and major scientific and technological achievements.

ICCS has established four sino-foreign joint research groups of catalytic science, functional membrane material,  bionic interface chemistry and theoretical computing. The catalytic science group, is oriented to the countrys major needs including with regard to petrochemical transformation, new energy development, utilization, etc.. This group also commits to the creation of high-performance zeolite nanopore materials, focuses on improving efficient catalytic transformation and explores catalytic mechanisms and promoting the collaborative innovation of industry, university and research. The functional membrane materials group is oriented to the core issues of environmental and energy shortage, and they dedicate to the creation of membrane materials with ion and molecular precision separation functions to achieve efficient and highly selective separation and purification. The bionic interface chemistry group is oriented to the fields of health and life and environmental governance. This group dedicates to bionic three-phase interface chemistry and materials research and develops efficient enzyme biosensing techniques and environmental restoration technology. The theoretical computing group aims to catalyze theoretical calculation of the mechanism, having an in-depth understanding of the mechanism of important reactions and formation mechanism of chemoselectivity, regioselectivity and stereoselectivity, which provides the scientific basis for precise design and synthesis.

ICCS has established two public platforms for chemical testing and characterization, theoretical simulation and calculation. It has more than 20 sets of large and medium-sized equipment, including X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopes, ultraviolet absorption spectrometer, multiple online gas/liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry, multi/single-channel high-pressure catalytic evaluation device, gas transmittance tester, thermogravimetric infrared combined system, and coil film continuous preparation pilot line and other advanced instruments and equipment.

ICCS adheres to the concept of cultivating talents, exploring and innovating and builds a dual-line interactive talent-gathering mode to boost the long-term development of ICCS. ICCS is based on the cultivation of high-level innovative talents, and it attracts outstanding postdocs, future scientists and outstanding scientists to join. ICCS focuses on promoting the transformation of achievements, recruiting project personnel, technical engineers and industrial talents, and establishing a deep cooperation cycle of Industry-University-Research.

Staff and students of ICCS warmly welcome students, interested in scientific research, to join the center for further study. ICCS also look forward to the participation of outstanding scholars at home and abroad to build ICCS into a world-class innovation center for chemical science.
